Interview

Our designers need a full understanding of your lifestyle and the way you use your living space. Ironwood Designs designers will meet with you at your home for these reasons. How you plan to use the room is important in making it comfortable for you and your family. We call this the “interview” or “consultation” process. Good communication with our clients is important in our design process.

Our Contract

The contract is a breakdown of Ironwood Designs’ process. It’s in place to protect you, our client, as well as our designers. If there are any questions or concerns regarding any of this information, the sales staff at Ironwood Designs will gladly walk you through each section.

The budget portion is key in the contract. Our designers want to work within your given budget. Designers LOVE budgets; it creates the framework for the design. No budget is too low and there are no budgetary expectations either.

Design Development

After the interview or consultation process is completed, an understanding of your needs is established for the project. With approval from you we move forward with the project. Our designers will use their design knowledge, talent, experience, and the information gathered through the interview or consultation process to put an original design together uniquely for you.

Project Proposal

Ironwood Designs designers will schedule a meeting at your home with a complete project proposal. Their presentation boards and floor plans by room are created to assist in your understanding of the conceptual design ideas individually completed just for you. 

Ordering

When you’re ready to special order any merchandise, please understand that it takes approximately a week to process your order through Ironwood Designs and our vendors. There is a normal 4-6 week wait after any piece of furniture has been ordered. There are times of the year in which this timeline lengthens, such as the end of October through Christmas holiday, and April/May. At these seasonal times a 6-12 week timeline on any special order may occur.

You must keep in mind that many products are shipped from overseas. Once these orders are turned over to our partner companies, the length of time is sometimes out of our control. If timeline changes occur, Ironwood Designs will notify you immediately of the back order date.

Why You Need Ironwood Designs

We offer personally tailored, unique designs at an affordable price that will challenge the work of major metropolitan design firms. We also promise that a focused plan and a sound design will save you money in the long run by allowing you to make informed choices from the start!

You're Apart Of The Process Too

Customers can give the designers ideas about the look and the feel they envision by cutting pictures from magazines of entire rooms or furniture styles. If you have current pieces that you want to keep, fabric samples or photos of these items are helpful to design planning.
First and foremost, our designers LOVE budgets. A budget creates the framework for the design. No budget is too low (or too high) for Ironwood Designs, and there are no budgetary expectations. The customer should know his/her budget. You will need to set up a price range for your room or project. This helps the designer choose paint colors, wallpaper, fabrics, furniture, and accessory pieces to make your room look its best and keep it affordable.

In addition, our customers are asked to make choices in a reasonable length of time and express opinions honestly. Open and honest communication guides the designers to the perfect design.

Estimates & Special Orders

An additional fee of $150.00 will be billed to customers requesting each service of paint selections, electrical placements, lighting, countertops, flooring and/or cabinetry—if the item is not purchased through Ironwood Designs. Selection fees are waived when purchased through Ironwood Designs.

An order is made after you have received the estimates, and it requires a non-refundable payment of 50% of the total estimate. Upon delivery and installation of the project, the remaining balance must be paid in full.

Fees

We maintain high levels of quality and sophistication. Customer satisfaction is the best asset we bring, along with our experience, to the decorating table. Be it a major renovation or a single room fix-up, the end result defines our combined success. Each project presents a new set of circumstances, and because of that, the fees charged are based on the size and scope of the project. Ironwood Designs will charge a consultation fee of $100.00 per hour for a visit to a prospective client. The consultation time is an opportunity for us to become acquainted with the client(s), the size and scale of the room(s), and your likes and dislikes. This fee is due at the time of the initial consultation.

Ironwood Designs will then develop a plan specifically for you and your home or business. This service is FREE, provided you make all appropriate purchases through Ironwood Designs. Should you choose not to use our retail services, but still choose to use the design provided, an hourly design rate of $50.00 per person will be billed to you (a single room design takes a designer approximately eight hours from start to finish).
